Trying to stay awake
It might not actually be the middle of the night where I am right now, but I feel like I'm on the verge of pulling an all-nighter, so you might as well treat it as such.
I find the hardest part of jetlag is the second day. The first day, there's usually enough to do that I keep busy and stay up until a reasonable hour to go to sleep, and then I can sleep for most of the night because I'm tired enough after actually pulling most of an all-nighter. The second day, I'm usually settled in enough that I have time to take a nap during what my body thinks is the middle of the night, but I know that I shouldn't, since it would just make my jetlag worse.
This time, I was at a friend's house until just when the worst of it usually hits, just past when I would usually stay up on a late night up. So when I got back, I wanted to sleep really badly. I still do. Sometimes I feel like I should just keep the jetlag for as long as possible since it helps me feel awake in the mornings... inevitably, though, my body catches on to being in a different time zone and I go back to not being a morning person...
