nanowrimo, fun and games
Nanowrimo was really hard for me to get going this year. It started getting colder and colder as the month went on, and I started feeling less and less like writing and more and more like knitting. So I did. I had a good start, but didn't feel very much like writing by the middle of the second week and didn't get back on track until the last weekend, when I did a marathon of around 10k to catch up and get ahead.
Last year, I had more people around me motivating me to do my 1667 words a day. This year, I was pretty much on my own, until I joined the wrimobuddies chat that last weekend on a 4:30 am whim... I didn't sleep much last weekend, but at least it worked. I got far enough ahead and close enough to 50k that I finally just wanted to get it over with, so I ended up finishing a couple days early. Mostly just so I could get back to knitting.
I also bought Jump Ultimate Stars, but I haven't played that much yet. It's slow going, because I'm trying to get through without using the English walkthrough. Also, I'm not done with my Christmas knitting yet, so I haven't had time to just sit and play like I did when I got the first one.
I finally got a chance to take a picture of the leaves turning today. They didn't start turning until really late this year, apparently because the weather was so weird (warm for a long time, then suddenly really cold). But I went to Ikeda Zoo today with my coworker, and I finally got a chance to take some more pictures. My favorite was this one, with a bunch of turtles sitting in a fountain in the middle of the main walkway.
In other news, we finally won the Game.
